RT France was forced to close as the Directorate General of the Treasury froze its accounts.
Propaganda TV channel RT Francewhich broadcasts in French in several Western European countries and in Canada (associated with a Russian-language TV channel RT- Russia Today) announced its closure in France. The reason for this is the blocking of their shareholder accounts. This was stated in a media statement published on Saturday, January 21, on his Telegram channel.
“After five years of persistence, the ruling power has achieved its goal: the closure of RT France. Under the guise of the 9th package of sanctions against Russia – which is not directed against our channel, but against our shareholder and parent company – the Directorate General of the Treasury has decided to freeze RT France’s bank accounts, making it impossible to continue our activities,” the TV channel said in a press release.
Note that the owner of this TV channel is MIA Russia today.
The RT France TV channel itself has been the object of criticism more than once due to the biased presentation of information in the field of politics and some public issues, in particular, the TV channel has spread anti-vaccine theories.
As we already reported, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine called on Serbia not to issue permission to broadcast the Russian propaganda channel Russia Today.
