Air defense systems were placed on houses in the capital of the aggressor country, Moscow.
The installation of air defense systems on houses in Moscow is an intensification of the efforts of the Russian authorities to prepare the Russian population for a protracted war against Ukraine. Thus, the Kremlin creates a new “picture” of the war, which is dangerous for Russian society. This is stated in a new report by the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
The Kremlin has likely deployed air defense systems in Moscow to create provocative messages portraying the war as more threatening to the Russian public. It is unlikely that the Kremlin believes that Moscow is a target for Ukraine, and most likely it resorted to this ostentatious game to increase information operations to prepare the Russian domestic information space for a protracted war in Ukraine and subsequent casualties, the report says.
Military experts believe that the demonstration of air defense systems is also, in all likelihood, part of a campaign to promote a number of analogies to the hostilities of the Second World War, when air defense systems were installed directly throughout Moscow.
Recall that in Moscow, on the roof of one of the high-rise buildings, with the help of a shooting crane, an air defense system was installed – the Pantsir-S1 self-propelled anti-aircraft artillery system. Also, the air defense system was placed near the summer residence of the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
