The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili, gave the first part of the questionnaire to the head of the EU Delegation, Karl Hartzel, to obtain the status of a candidate for joining the European Union. This was reported to the Georgia government.
“I have the honor to convey to you our answers to the European Commission questionnaire as part of the preparation for consideration of Georgia’s application for EU membership,” Garibashvili said.
It was reported that the filling of the second, sectoral, part of the questionnaire, which included 33 chapters and up to 2300 questions, was ongoing. Garibashvili noted that the Georgia government expects to pass the second part of the questionnaire to the EU earlier than schedule.
