Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said he did not expect tensions between Belgrade and Kosovo to escalate into a full-scale military conflict and hoped to overcome difficulties. It was reported by Anadolu Agency.

“I hope that we will be able to maintain stability and peace in the region,” said the Serbian leader, pointing to differences in the positions of Belgrade and some WEF participating countries on the Kosovo issue.
When issues related to other countries are resolved, compliance with the Charter and UN resolutions is mandatory, but in the context of discussions about the territorial integrity of Serbia, the perspective changes, the politician said. .
“At the same time, we will do everything to maintain stability and peace (in the Balkans). (On the Kosovo-Serbian tension) I do not predict war. I hope we will overcome all difficulties,” the Serbian leader said. .
Vučić further said that in meetings with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, he always discussed various issues, and among others he was ready to discuss this topic (the tension between Kosovo and Serbia). The head of state noted that despite differences in positions on the issue of Kosovo’s independence, Belgrade considers Turkey a friendly country.
Serbia is ready to discuss the conflicts in Kosovo, to consider ways to overcome difficulties, to hear proposals on how President Erdogan can contribute to solving the issue, the president continued.
The Serbian leader also noted Belgrade’s desire to deepen military-technical cooperation with Ankara.
At the same time, Vucic called the sale of the Turkish Bayraktar TB2 UAV to Serbia and Kosovo unacceptable.
“We are ready to buy a lot of different military equipment from Turkey, in addition to Bayraktar 2,” the President said.
It was previously reported that Serbia does not recognize the occupation of part of the territory of Ukraine by Russian troops. Oleksandr Vučič said that Crimea and Donbass are Ukraine for him.
