Such an “audit” is said to be necessary for the planned “modernization” of the nuclear power plant, because earlier there were “many imitations” at ZNPP, Moscow said.
Russian occupiers conduct an “audit” at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant in the temporarily occupied city of Energodar, Zaporozhye region. This was said by the adviser to the head of the concern Rosenergoatom Renat Karchaa, reports Interfax on Friday, January 20.
Such an “audit” is said to be necessary for the “modernization” plan of the nuclear power plant. Renat Karchaa said there were “a lot of imitations” in ZNPP earlier.
“A lot of money was allocated for modernization, but in fact it was not carried out. The station was kept only afloat. This is the so-called planned, current repair, nothing more,” said Karchaa.
That’s why, according to him, “quite thorough work is being carried out now in the audit, to clarify the true technical condition of the units and other systems, followed by the planning of the work particularly in the modernization of the station.”
Karchaa added that restoration and ongoing technical work is said to be underway at the station. At the same time, he assessed the damage from the shelling as “enormous.”
“There are no exact calculations yet. It is estimated that more than one hundred million rubles of damage has been caused… A lot has been done and a lot is being done. Including protecting the places where fresh nuclear fuel and spent waste, radioactive materials can be found,” he said.
Earlier, the occupiers announced “repairs” to the ZNPP power units. The aggressors wanted to “strengthen” the Zaporizhzhya NPP with specialists from Russian nuclear power plants built according to similar projects.
