The phones of the Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Spain have been hacked by the Pegasus program.
In Spain, the mobile phones of Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez and Defense Minister Margarita Robles were hacked. On Monday, May 2, Politico reports.
It was noted that the hacking was carried out using Pegasus spyware.
In May and June 2021, “outside” forces hacked the government’s mobile communications, said Felix Bolaños, head of the Spanish Prime Minister’s administration. Sanchez’s phone was infected twice, and a lot of data was extracted from it.
“When we talk about external interventions, we mean that they are alien to state bodies and do not have the judicial authorization of any official body. So we classify them as illegal and external,” he said. by Bolaños.
According to him, there is currently an investigation into whether the phones of other members of the government were hacked.
It will be recalled that last year it was reported that with the help of Pegasus spyware, presidents and prime ministers were being monitored.
