The Kremlin’s use of tactical nuclear weapons will hasten Russia’s demise. In this case, it will deal with the collapse or change of leadership and the return of all occupied territory.
Kirill Budanov, head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, believes that if Russia uses tactical nuclear weapons in Ukraine, there are only two options for ending the war. Budanov spoke about it on Monday, May 2, in an interview with NV.
According to him, in this case, Russia’s war against Ukraine could end in two ways – the collapse of the Russian Federation into three or more parts or a change in Russian leadership.
“This war is coming to an end. There are only two options for how it will end.”
“The first is the division of Russia into three or more parts. And the second is the relative preservation of the territorial integrity of the Russian Federation when the country’s leadership changes.
In the latter case, the new leader will say that the Russian Federation has nothing to do with all these processes, it is a sick dictator, and the country has nothing to do with it. In this case, Russia will give up all the territories it occupies – from the islands of Japan to Koenigsberg, the current Kaliningrad, which belongs to Germany.
At the same time, Budanov assured: “Don’t worry, Ukraine will win.”
When asked if the war could end and Russian President Vladimir Putin survive, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate replied: “Leaving him with a retreat is one of the strategies, but it is almost unrealistic. He’s a war criminal for the whole world. This is the end of him, he’s in trouble. “
Budanov also stressed that Russia’s use of tactical nuclear weapons will only accelerate the end of the Russian Federation.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky said he did not rule out that Putin could use nuclear weapons.
The US Congress has prepared a resolution for the introduction of troops into Ukraine in case the Russian Federation uses weapons of mass destruction.
