The businessman considers video hosting an “information plague”, and those who oppose its blocking are traitors.
Founder of PMC Wagner Yevgeny Prigozhin called YouTube “the information plague of our time” and announced the imminent closure of the video hosting for Russian citizens. This was stated in the businessman’s comments, published by his press service on January 18.
“YouTube is the information plague of our time. There are two reasons why it was not shut down at once. The second reason is that there is an absolutely ridiculous opinion that there is no other place to upload videos and there is nowhere to store them.. And the first and main reason – we have now in Staraya Square in the Presidential Administration there is a large number of people who are thinking only about one thing – if Russia will lose the war in as soon as possible, if the Americans will come and fix us as soon as possible,” said Prigozhin.
According to him, all those opposed to closing YouTube are “traitors to their people and their country.”
“And now I will tell you something secretly. No matter how hard they break their teeth, the bastards who pretend to participate, but in fact interfere with us in the special operation, wearing Russian flags on May 9, but put relatives abroad and go to Dubai to play golf, in the near future YouTube will be closed”, – said the founder of PMC Wagner.
He expressed confidence that after the shutdown of YouTube, its active users “will be identified and face the appropriate punishment.”
Recall that at the end of October 2022, Prigozhin turned to the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation with a request to block YouTube, as well as to declare Google’s activities in Russia “undesirable”.
Russia calls YouTube “terrorist”.
