The representative of Ukraine said that this is a mockery of the Security Council, when an accomplice in crimes against humanity tells the Security Council which confession of Ukraine should be recognized as canonical and which – heretical.
Russia’s crazy claims about mosquito wars, dirty bombs, chemical weapons and secret biolaboratories are supplemented by Russian claims about canonical confessions in Ukraine. This was announced on Tuesday, January 17, by the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN, Serhiy Kyslytsya, at a meeting of the UN Security Council, reports Ukrinform.
Notably, Russia has called a meeting to discuss the alleged oppression of the Russian Church in Ukraine.
“We’ve already heard crazy statements about mosquito fighting, Ukraine’s dirty bombs and chemical weapons, secret laboratories, etc. Now, the representative of Russia went even further. which admission to Ukraine which should be recognized as canonical, and which – heretical,” he said .
Kislitsa noted that the representative of the Putin regime was abusing the permanent mission of a non-existent country (USSR) and forcing the Security Council to listen to his disinformation statements. Russia is trying to “distract the attention of this body from the real security threats arising from its aggression and create a smoke screen by hiding its crimes behind tons of fakes,” he added.
The permanent representative read a statement of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, which stated that it “does not turn to any state for help in protecting its rights, especially to the state that has carried out a treacherous armed attack on our country. “
“We are concerned that the issue of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church was raised by structures that have nothing to do with us. We call on the Russian authorities not to speak on behalf of our Church on international platforms and not to use the religious factor for their own political purposes,” the statement said. .
Kislytsya also published a statement of different religions in Ukraine, stating that the war brought believers “severe suffering, and the freedom of people, their religious beliefs really became the first target of the Russian invaders.”
Earlier it was reported that the Constitutional Court approved a law obliging the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate to indicate in its name that it belongs to the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC).
