In Nepal, an ATR 72 passenger plane of Yeti Airlines crashed while flying from Kathmandu to Pokhara. All on board were killed, Indian TV channel News18 reported.
It is known that the liner crashed before landing at Pokhara airport, after which it burst into flames. There were 72 people on board – 68 passengers, including six children and four crew members. Their bodies were taken from the plane.
It is learned that there were 10 foreigners on board the ATR 72 – five Indian nationals, one Irishman, two South Korean nationals and four Russians. The Russian Embassy in Nepal has confirmed the death of their compatriots.
Nepal’s Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal called an emergency government meeting regarding the disaster.
It will be remembered that in May 2022, a Tara Air Twin Otter passenger plane crashed in the mountains of Nepal. Then 22 people died, including six foreigners.
