Former king of Greece Constantine IIQueen Sofia’s brother, died on Tuesday at the age of 82 at the Ygeia Private Hospital in Athens, where he was admitted last week.
His entire family was with the former monarch for several days, including his sisters Doña Sofía and Doña Irén, who came from Spain to be with him in his final moments.
Constantine II For several years he was in poor health. In December 2021, he was hospitalized after suffering an ischemic crisis, and a month later due to infection with a coronavirus.

His office did not want to confirm this point at any time and limited themselves to indicating until yesterday that he was stable in his fragile condition.
Konstantin suffered for some time from breathing and heart problems, and in recent years his mobility has decreased.
In recent days, his relatives have been arriving from different parts of the world, since only one of his five children, Nicholas, lives in Greece, is married to Tatiana Blanik.
The former monarch moved with his wife Anna-Maria, the younger sister of Queen Margrethe of Denmark, from the town of Porto Heli in the Peloponnese to Athens last spring to be closer to the hospital and the doctors who monitor his health.
The last time he appeared in public was with his wife and sisters in October last year, when they could be seen walking along the main street in Athens.
The last king of Greece
Constantine II He was crowned King of Greece in 1964 at the age of 24, although shortly after the establishment of the dictatorship of the colonels in the country, in 1967, he was forced to go into exile with his entire family in Rome.
