Most of the symptoms in long covid disappear within a year in people with mild infections, according to a large Israeli study released Thursday.
At least 17 million people in Europe suffered from symptoms long covid after recovering from the initial infection in 2020 and 2021 based on World Health Organization modeling (WHO).
But much is unclear about this condition, including how long it lasts.
Researchers in Israel analyzed the medical records of nearly two million people of all ages who had COVID-19 in the country between March 2020 and October 2021.
So the results included initial coronavirus variants like delta, not later omicron variants.
They looked for more than 70 different symptoms related to long COVID.
They excluded the most severe cases, which, according to initial investigations, carry a higher risk. long COVID.
