This was stated by the director of the second department of the CIS countries of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Alexei Polishchuk, TASS reports on Friday, January 13.
“From a legal point of view, the use of military force by the Kyiv regime or the invasion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the territory of Belarus or Russia are sufficient grounds for collective response measures. At the same time, their adoption remains at the discretion of the political and military leadership of the two countries. response to threats that arise in a particular situation,” said Polishchuk.
He recalled that in November 2021, an updated military doctrine of the Union State was approved, which is “exclusively defensive in nature, but assumes that the use of military force against any participating state is considered an invasion of the State of Union as a whole.”
As reported, the troops of the Russian Federation and Belarus will conduct joint tactical flight exercises from January 16 to February 1.
