A proposal to place a bust of Zelensky in the Capitol was made by Republican Congressman Joe Wilson.
The United States has proposed placing a bust of the President of Ukraine in the House wing of the Capitol. The Washington Times writes about it.
It was reported that the proposal to place Zelensky’s bust in the Capitol was made by Republican Congressman Joe Wilson, who previously submitted a draft resolution instructing the Fine Arts Council of the US House of Representatives to create a bust of the President of Ukraine.
Joe Wilson has served in the US Congress since 2001 and is a senior member of the House Armed Services and Foreign Affairs Committees.
A staunch conservative who was widely criticized for shouting “You’re lying” at former President Obama during his 2009 speech to Congress, Mr. Wilson has been a strong supporter of Ukraine.
In December, Joe Wilson told a reporter for the Charleston Post and Courier newspaper that Ukraine’s resistance against Russian aggression reminded him of the American Revolution.
Earlier it was reported that Zelensky spoke at the Golden Globe ceremony. In his speech, he assured that “there will be no third world war,” because Ukraine will stop the Russian invasion of its land.
