Warmer temperatures may reduce the duration of power outages this weekend.
By the weekend, January 14-15, the electricity situation in Ukraine should improve. This is due to the expected warming, which will reduce the number of outages. This was said by the head of the board of NPC Ukrenergo Volodymyr Kudrytsky on the air of the telethon.
He noted that higher air temperatures will help reduce electricity consumption.
“Warm up is expected over the weekend, and it will be easier for us to “pack” consumption into the amount of generation we have,” he said.
According to Kudrytsky, Ukrainian power engineers are working to increase generation and speed up the restoration of power facilities that were destroyed or damaged during the Russian attack to reduce the limit of power consumption.
“We are now working to “squeeze” all the generating capacities it possibly has from the energy system, accelerate the repairs that can be accelerated, and ensure that we have more and more existing generation,” he explained .
Kudrytsky noted that it is important for Ukrainians to continue to consume electricity sparingly. This is especially true during the cold season, when consumption increases significantly, and it is not possible to cover it with available capacities.
Earlier it was reported that the lack of electricity has increased in Ukraine due to a significant drop in temperature.
