Ukraine offers Russia a way of prisoner exchange on the level of “all for all”, but the invaders do not agree to this.
There are currently around 2,000 Ukrainian soldiers in Russian captivity defending Azovstal in Mariupol. This was stated on Tuesday, January 10, in the publication of the Association of Families of Azovstal Defenders.
In particular, the co-founder of the association, Galina Klempous, noted that eight defenders of Mariupol recently returned from captivity – some of them were brought from Azovstal.
“We cannot publish their exact number, because it will affect or somehow affect them in the future. However, we are waiting for them at home, preparing some gifts. Also, about two thousand defenders of Azovstal continue to be captured ,” he said.
At the same time, Clempose said that the men and women who defended Mariupol were in captivity.
It should be noted that another exchange of prisoners took place, as a result of which another 50 Ukrainian soldiers were released.
