Egils Levits assured that Latvia will continue to support Ukraine in the war against the aggressor and in post-war reconstruction.

Latvian President Egils Levits said his country’s aid to Ukraine amounted to 0.93% of Latvia’s GDP, Ukrinform reports.

Egils Levits assured that Latvia will continue to support Ukraine in the war against the aggressor and in post-war reconstruction.

“Today Latvia is one of the most loyal supporters of Ukraine with a support rate of 0.93% of GDP. We will continue to support Ukraine’s path to the EU and its recovery after the war. Latvia already provides practical support in the Chernihiv region,” said the Latvian leader.

The President of Latvia spoke about a recent telephone conversation with the President of Ukraine and about the stable position of Latvia.

“We know and understand the argument of Ukraine. Russia shows no signs of ending its military aggression. This indicates that it does not intend to strive for a just peace and meaningful negotiations. Therefore, the pressure on Russia should be continued. Latvia is in favor of further strengthening diplomatic, political and economic pressure on Russia,” said Levits.

It was previously reported that Latvia will allocate €560,000 for generators for Ukrainian media.
