The military commissioner said the list would not be made public to protect personal data.
The Russian military leadership has decided not to publish the lists of servicemen who died as a result of a strike on a Russian base in the occupied Makiivka, Donetsk region. This was stated by the military commissioner of the Samara region Alexei Vdovin in a commentary to The Insider.
According to him, these data can allegedly be used by “foreign intelligence agencies” to “identify and carry out provocative activities of servicemen’s relatives.”
“There are no lists to be published. All available information on military commissariats is personally communicated to family members of a serviceman – either when applying, or, for a number of servicemen, the notification were personally made by employees of military commissariats,” said Vdovin.
The commissioner explained the refusal to publish the lists by the protection of personal data and protection from foreign intelligence services.
Recall that on New Year’s Eve, the construction of a vocational school in the occupied Makeevka, where the Russian military was in large numbers, was attacked, the building was almost completely destroyed. Near the vocational school there is a cache of ammunition and equipment of the invaders. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation acknowledged the deaths of 89 soldiers. At the same time, the Strategic Communications Department of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that about 400 invaders were killed in Makeevka on New Year’s Eve, and about 300 more were wounded.
