AT 12:00 Moscow entered into force today unilateral ceasefire 36 hours in Ukraine by order of the President of Russia, Vladimir Putinon the occasion of Orthodox Christmaswhich is celebrated on January 7th.
At the moment it is not known whether the unilateral ceasefire order is respected by Russian troops participating in the military campaign in Ukraine.
According to him KremlinPutin’s decision came in response to Russian Orthodox Church Patriarch Kirill’s call for a Christmas truce before midnight Saturday tomorrow.
“Cover”
President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelenskylast night accused Russia of trying to “use Christmas as a cover” to stop the advance of the Ukrainian army and regroup its forces.
“Now they want to use Christmas as a cover to stop the advance of our guys to the Donbass at least for a while and bring equipment, ammunition and mobilized people closer to our positions. What will it give? Just another increase in the death toll,” he said. the president in his usual late-night speech.
Zelensky stressed that “everyone in the world knows how the Kremlin uses the stops in the war to continue it with renewed vigor.”
“In order to end the war faster, this (ceasefire) is not necessary at all. It is necessary that the citizens of Russia find the courage to free themselves from their shameful fear of a man in the Kremlin, at least for 36 hours, at least in Christmas”, he insisted. (EFE)
