“President Biden and Chancellor Scholz expressed their mutual determination to continue to provide the necessary financial, humanitarian, military and diplomatic support to Ukraine as long as necessary. To this end, the United States intends to provide Ukraine with Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, and Germany with Marder infantry fighting vehicles,” the message said. .
At the same time, it was noted that the countries plan to train Ukrainian troops to manage these systems.
In addition, Biden and Scholz reaffirmed their intention to continue supporting Ukraine’s urgent air defense needs.
“In late December, the United States announced the donation of a Patriot anti-aircraft missile system battery to Ukraine. Germany will join the United States in donating an additional Patriot air defense battery to Ukraine,” the statement said.
Also, the leaders of the two countries praised the ongoing coordination efforts of the Ukrainian Defense Contact Group and welcomed additional donations of air defense systems and combat vehicles.
