The Turkish president told the head of the Russian Federation that peace efforts should be supported by a unilateral ceasefire.
Peace efforts in matters of war must be supported by unilateral cease-fires. This is what Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin in a telephone conversation, Reuters reported on Thursday, January 5.
The Turkish leader believes that establishing peace also requires a “vision of a just solution.”
The Erdogan administration said in a statement that the presidents discussed energy and the Black Sea grain corridor and Erdogan told Putin about concrete steps to be taken to rid the Syrian border region of Kurdish militants.
As previously reported, Erdogan plans to hold separate talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, as well as Vladimir Putin.
We add that in the previous conversation, Erdogan discussed with Putin the “grain deal” and the situation in Syria.
