The New York Daily News took to the front page Wednesday to summarize the chaos in the GOP after House Republicans failed, at least for now, to elect Kevin McCarthy as president.
“It’s the GOP show, with . . . the Liar and the Loser,” declared the newspaper’s headline.
The “liar” was referring to Congressman George Santos (RN.Y.), who has been teased in recent days for his questionable life story.
Meanwhile, the dig at “The Loser” took aim at McCarthy following his still-unsuccessful bid to become president after House Democrats joined a group of far-right Republicans in voting against him.
The two are “the poster children for GOP dysfunction,” the tabloid added.
McCarthy admitted Tuesday night that it wasn’t “the day I wanted to have,” but vowed to continue as speaker. He claims he has the continued support of former President Donald Trump.
