Norway will supply gas to Ukraine until the end of winter

Oslo is also preparing military aid to Kyiv. Zelensky believes that Norway’s role in protecting Europe could be historic.

Norway is ready to provide Ukraine with the necessary amount of gas for this winter. This was announced on Tuesday, January 3, by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in an evening speech to Ukrainians.

He noted that Norway’s role in the defense of Europe could be historic.

“Thanks to Norway for the very strong decisions that have already been made and are still being prepared. This also applies to armed support. Norway’s role can be truly historic in protecting Europe if we implement everything we are talking about now ,” said Zelensky.

The President added that this also applies to support for the Ukrainian energy system.

“In particular, I thank Norway for its willingness to help Ukraine with the necessary amount of gas for this winter,” the president said.

As reported, on Tuesday, Zelensky spoke with the Prime Minister of Norway, Gahr Stere, where he thanked for the financing of gas volumes for the winter season.

Recall that in November it was reported that Norway allocated almost $200 million for gas to Ukraine.
