The Russians don’t have enough manpower. Based on this, they have made a decision for themselves to start the next wave of mobilization.
The Russian authorities will conduct a new wave of mobilization at the very beginning of 2023. This was said on December 29 in an interview with the BBC by the head of GUR MO Kirill Budanov.
“When forming new units, the Russians lack manpower. Based on this, they are now considering and have already made a decision for themselves to start the next wave of mobilization from January 5,” said by Budanov.
Thus, the head of the Ukrainian intelligence refuted the statement of the Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, who on December 29 announced the completion of the mobilization. The exact start date of the second wave of mobilization may be different. But, according to Budanov, “in principle, it will not change anything.”
This is due to the fact that, due to manpower losses, the Russians have to do it anyway.
Recall that earlier the Kremlin ruled out talks with Putin in a “pre-pandemic” format due to mutations. Vladimir Putin’s state of health is a matter of state security, Dmitry Peskov explained.
