In Kramatorsk, Donetsk region, a monument to the Russian poet Alexander Pushkin was demolished. This was announced by the mayor of the city Alexander Goncharenko on Facebook.

“Here is a place for their heroes, their culture and history. This is not a battle against monuments, this is Ukraine’s struggle for life. The Ukrainian is in Ukraine,” Honcharenko wrote.

Goncharenko clarified in a comment to Suspilny that two to three thousand hryvnias were spent on dismantling from the local budget. The bust will be temporarily stored on the territory of one of the municipal enterprises of the city, and later they will decide what to do with it next.

“Maybe we will sell it as a monument to Lenin this year – it was kept for seven years based on one of the public utilities, maybe we will leave it. We will decide after the victory,” said the mayor. .

Earlier in Odessa, the demolition of monuments to Russian Empress Catherine II and commander Alexander Suvorov was completed.
