The drug from ARVI of the Indian company Marion Biotech caused the death of 18 children in Uzbekistan. The test results were sent to law enforcement agencies, the press service of the country’s Ministry of Health reported on December 27.
“As a result of drinking the syrup Dock-1 Max 18 of the 21 children who contracted acute respiratory disease died. It was found that the deceased children, before receiving hospital treatment, took this medicine at home for 2-7 days, 3-4 times a day, 2.5-5 ml each, which exceed the usual dose for children,” the department insisted. .
The Ministry of Health added that currently tablets and syrup Dock-1 Max removed from sale in all pharmacies of the republic. Laboratory studies revealed a toxic substance in the preparation – ethylene glycol.
Earlier it was reported that in Dnipro, a pharmacist mother injected a one and a half year old child with a powerful drug, which is prohibited for free sale. Because of this, the child died in intensive care.
