Russia wants to resume supplies through the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline

The European market remains relevant for Russia, because there is a shortage of gas, Alexander Novak said.

Russia is ready to resume gas supplies to Europe through the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline, which was previously stopped “for political reasons.” This was stated by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak, TASS agency reported yesterday.

According to him, the European market “remains relevant, because there is a shortage of gas,” and Russia “has every chance to continue supplies.”

“For example, the Yamal-Europe pipeline, which was stalled for political reasons, remains unused,” Novak said in an interview.

The Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation also saw an increase in demand for Russian gas from Europe.

“Now we can say with confidence that there is a demand for our gas. Therefore, we continue to consider Europe as a potential market for our products. It is clear that a massive campaign has been launched against us, which has concluded in sabotage against the Nord Stream,” he added.

Recall that at the end of April, Russia stopped gas supplies to Poland through the Yamal-Europe pipeline. Poland was not told about the reasons.

Later, Poland announced that they would no longer buy gas from Russia. The country has relied on the supply of LNG and gas from Norway.
