Putin: Russia “forced to stand up for the people”

Putin is sure that Moscow is moving in the right direction and allegedly protects its national interests and the interests of citizens.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, in an interview with the Russia 1 TV channel, said that Russia was forced to “become a protector of the people” living in Ukraine after the so-called “coup d’état” in 2014. According to him, the actions of Western countries aim to separate “historical Russia”, so it is necessary to act to “unite the Russian people.”

“Divide and rule. They have always tried to do it, they are trying to do it now. And our goal is different – to unite the Russian people,” Putin said.

Answering a journalist’s question whether the Russian Federation is approaching a dangerous line in connection with the war in Ukraine, the Russian president said that he does not consider it dangerous. He is confident that Moscow is moving in the right direction and allegedly protects its national interests and the interests of Russian citizens.

“There is no other choice but to protect our citizens. We are ready to negotiate with all participants in this process about some acceptable solutions, but this is their business – we are not the ones who refuse negotiations, but they, ” said Putin.

Meanwhile, the EC says Putin has lost the war.
