ISW indicated that the lack of personnel and ammunition in the Russian army will not allow maintaining the current high-speed offensive operations in the Bakhmut area in the short term.
The advance of Russian troops in the Bakhmut region has slowed down, the enemy may initiate an operational halt. This was reported in a summary by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
At the same time, military analysts emphasize that it is too early to judge whether its offensive has reached its peak: in November and December, the enemy carried out slightly fewer attacks in the Bakhmut region than in October.
The summary states that Russian troops are unlikely to maintain the pace of the offensive and may attempt to initiate a tactical or operational halt. In particular, heavy losses among the Wagner PMC terrorists affected the current operational capabilities of the invaders.
ISW indicated that the lack of personnel and ammunition in the Russian army will not allow maintaining the current high-speed offensive operations in the Bakhmut area in the short term.
Russia’s ruthless and costly advance in Bakhmut could also undermine Russia’s ability to pursue long-term goals in the Donbas theater of operations, the summary said.
On the eve, it was reported that the Russian invaders delivered 225 strikes in the direction of Bakhmut in one day. 28 skirmishes took place in this area, as a result of which more than 90 invaders were killed and 100 others were injured.
Earlier it was reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled enemy attacks near 16 settlements.
