President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed two decrees implementing the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine dated December 23: In conducting public security and civil protection review and On measures for the development and use of domestic satellite navigation systems in the interest of state security and defense. The document says that the National Security and Defense Council instructed the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to ensure that the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine conducts a review of public security and civil protection, providing the necessary changes to the relevant resolution of Cabinet of Ministers.
As mentioned, the decision of the National Security and Defense Council was adopted to practically fulfill the tasks of gaining membership in the European Union of Ukraine, taking a set of urgent measures aimed at overcoming the consequences of a full-scale armed invasion of the Russian Federation, assessing the state of forces and means of the National Guard of Ukraine, the State Border Service of Ukraine, and the National Police of Ukraine, the State Migration Service of Ukraine, the State Service of Ukraine for Emergency Situations and determining measures to achieve the necessary capabilities for them to perform tasks for the assignment of current and predicted environmental security conditions, ensuring readiness to protect external borders of the EU within the state borders of Ukraine after entering full membership or in the EU.
Zelensky also implemented the decision of the National Security and Defense Council on the development and use of satellite navigation systems in the interest of security and defense.
“To implement the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine dated December 23, 2022 On measures for the development and use of domestic satellite navigation systems in the interest of state security and defense,” the document said.
Control over the implementation of the decision is entrusted to the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council.
