The Moldovan Foreign Ministry responded to the words of the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin that Chisinau is in danger of a “catastrophe”.
Moldova is a peaceful and neutral state. However, neutrality “does not mean isolation, demilitarization or indifference to what is happening in the world.” This is what the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Moldova, Daniel Voda, said on his Facebook page on Saturday, December 24.
So, he responded to threats from Russia. In particular, we are talking about the fact that the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Galuzin, said that the intensification of cooperation between Moldova and NATO “brings the country closer to disaster.”
“We are interested in strengthening our stability, including through NATO – the strongest military-political alliance in the world,” said the representative of the Moldovan Foreign Ministry.
He also added that this cooperation is transparent and based on known frameworks.
“In the international arena, we live in a complex region that has suffered from Russia’s brutal aggression against Ukraine, with dramatic consequences for our state. We need all the solidarity of our friends to overcome the many hybrids that is the challenge we are facing. We are a free country and we decide how to develop our country,” the Moldovan official summed up.
Note that Galuzin said in an interview with the RIA Novosti propaganda agency that day that “the intensification of cooperation between Chisinau and NATO countries in the military and military-technical field is a factor that undermines the security of Moldova itself in greater extent.”
As previously reported, the head of Moldova’s Information and Security Service, Alexander Musteace, warned of a “very high” risk of a Russian offensive in the east of his country next year.
