There are also fewer supporters of peace talks with Russia. Now they are 50%, and a month before it was 55%.
At the end of December, 71% of Russians supported the war in Ukraine. The number of supporters of the negotiations has been declining in recent months. This is confirmed by the sociological survey data of the Levada Center.
Only 21% of Russians do not support Russian military aggression against Ukraine.
50% of Russian citizens are in favor of peace talks. At the same time, 40% are against. The share of negotiation supporters has been steadily declining over the past two months. A sharp increase in fans was recorded in September-October, when the Kremlin announced a slight mobilization.
Supporters of the talks explained their opinion by wanting to stop the deaths of people: “people are dying”, “boys are dying”, “there are too many victims”, “it is impossible to commit suicide each other”, “an evil peace is better than a good war.”
Supporters of the continuation of the war, for the most part, said that “what has been started must be brought to an end”, “to victory”, “so much has been done that it is impossible to undo.” The Russians also say that it is necessary to “crush the fascists” and that the Ukrainians “do not want peace among themselves.”

The Levada Center conducted a survey on December 15-21, 2022 among 1611 people.
The study was conducted at the respondent’s home through a personal interview. The statistical error (probability 0.95) does not exceed 3.4%.
We remind you that in November, almost 55% of Russian citizens were in favor of peace talks in Ukraine against the backdrop of the slight mobilization announced by the Kremlin.
