The Sky Rider reconnaissance drone has been captured by the Israeli military, the Israel Defense Forces said.
An Israeli reconnaissance drone crashed in the northern part of the Gaza Strip. MivzakLive.Team reported this in connection with the press service of the Israel Defense Forces on Friday, December 23.
“A Sky Rider-type unmanned aerial vehicle recently crashed during a routine activity in the northern part of the Gaza Strip,” the statement said.
Tsakhal added that the military has already seized the device, so there is no risk of information leakage.
The Israel Defense Forces promised to investigate the incident.
Sky Riders are the smallest UAVs used by Israeli gunners to collect information about possible targets on the ground.
The media reported that the Sky Rider does not have a self-destruct mechanism, which means that if it falls into enemy hands, intelligence information may be leaked.
