The Bulgarian leader expressed regret that, according to the constitutional norms, he could not veto the decision of the representatives.
Members of the Bulgarian parliament are allegedly “warmongering” as they approve a military aid package to Ukraine. This is what Bulgarian President Rumen Radev said, according to a local Military television channel.
The head of state complained that he would not be able to veto the decision on military supplies to Ukraine, due to the fact that it was adopted by a constitutional majority.
“Unfortunately, the warmongers in the parliament decided too much on military aid to Ukraine. So, they obliged the interim government to conclude an agreement with Ukraine for such aid,” the official said.
According to him, the package of military aid to Ukraine does not include aircraft, anti-aircraft missile systems and tanks, because their transfer can “harm our combat capabilities.”
Recall that the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov met with the Minister of Defense of Bulgaria Dimitar Stoyanov, where they discussed the issues of bilateral cooperation in the defense sector and the provision of the necessary assistance to Kyiv
