This is necessary to achieve representation in 30 countries of the African continent, explained Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Authorities have identified 10 African states where new Ukrainian embassies will open next year. President Volodymyr Zelensky said this at a conference of Ukrainian ambassadors on Friday, December 23.
“We are restarting relations with dozens of African countries. Next year we should strengthen it. 10 states have been identified where new Ukrainian embassies will be opened in Africa. We have also developed the concept of Ukraine- Africa Trading House in opening its representative offices in the capitals of the most promising countries on the continent “, Zelensky said.
The President emphasized that “in addition to the existing representation of Ukraine in ten African countries, with new embassies and trading houses, it is necessary to achieve representation in 30 countries of the African continent.”
At the same time, the head of state noted that global growth is impossible without relations with other parts of the Global South.
“Latin America, India, other Asian countries, including China and Southeast Asia, the entire region of the Indian and Pacific Ocean islands. Ukraine must find a format for its leadership in strategic processes in each of these regions, and the role of the diplomatic corps of Ukraine will be decisive “, added the president.
Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that African countries are changing their attitude towards Russia. Ukraine received record support in the UN General Assembly thanks to African states.
Recall that in October Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba made his first tour of African countries. According to him, it is possible to agree “on a number of specific things.”
