After the Grand Pic Saint-Loup (Hérault) hiking trail (GRP) in 2021, then GR 340 – Tour de Belle-Île-en-Mer (Brittany) in 2022, GR de Pays Tour de la Swiss Normandy (Calvados). This route has just been selected as “GR Favorites of the French 2023” at the end of the sixth edition of the “My Favorite GR” competition organized by the French Trekking Federation (FFRandonnée). From November 10 to 30, 2022, the general public was invited to vote online once a day on MonGR.fr from a list of eight tracks. During these three weeks, 90 thousand votes were collected.

The GR de Pays Tour de la Suisse Normande is a 113 km loop route that crosses the departments of Calvados and Orne. It’s a great way to explore its landscapes of steep cliffs, gentle hills shaded by dense forests, and adorned with autumn colors. A unique landscape that explains why this Norman area has been compared to Switzerland since the 19th century.
In second place, the GR 71 C&D – Tour du Larzac (Aveyron) was awarded by a jury (made up of personalities from the world of hiking and tourism). The distinction that allowed this 112 km loop, which starts in Millau, is rated with 20% more votes in public votes. The GR 120 – Littoral des Hauts-de-France (Pas-de-Calais), which connects the Belgian border to Treport along the Côte d’Opale coast, completes the podium.
