Thanks to the Giza Project, it is now possible to discover the basement of the first of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, the Pyramid of Cheops in Giza, near Cairo, Egypt. This navigation tool, developed by Harvard University and French startup Iconem, offers a 3D reconstruction of the cave that is now called the Great Pyramid of Giza. And this is more than true. the three main bedrooms and their long communicating tunnels are modeled with precision. The icing on the cake. some sections that are normally off limits to regular visitors are available online.

The visit starts with a short funny introduction. a reconstructed floor plan of the pyramid’s entrance, followed by a 180-degree tour to admire the city of Giza as we know it today, before taking a step back to appreciate the size of these 4,500. the annual pyramid and the tomb of the pharaoh of the same name.
The cruise can finally begin. it is fluid and invites us to explore the entire route. At each stage, which can be skipped using the dedicated button, a short descriptive text (in English) appears on the screen, as well as visual images to teach us more about the history and secrets of the pyramid.
