The County of Guadeloupe filed a complaint after a “Large scale cyber attack”.stating that it has shut down all its computer networks to protect its data. “As a security measure, all computer networks have been shut down to protect data and diagnostics are in progress”said in the message of the region on Monday. “Service Continuity Plan implemented to ensure public service missions”states the local entity, which adds that it filed a complaint and sent a notification to the CNIL.
In an internal communication sent to agents late in the afternoon and consulted by AFP, regional authorities said a crisis unit had been set up and advised agents to be more vigilant. The region said it was cooperating with the National Information Systems Security Agency, the National Police and the Gendarmerie.
The region has been added to the list of local organizations affected by computer attacks in recent months, following the Corbay-Essonnes hospital in August, the city of Caen in late September, the Saint-Maritime department and Seine in October. et-Marne in November.
