Five family residences for a secret stay in the heart of Italy

Villa Spalletti Trivelli, Rome’s best kept secret

This turn-of-the-century villa, a little way up the Quirinale, doesn’t suggest it’s a hotel. You have to ring the bell at the impressive wooden door to enter the house. Stepping inside, you are transported to an aristocratic house where almost nothing has changed since it was built in 1901. In the adjoining rooms, with herringbone parquet, decorated with Flemish tapestries and paintings from the school of Rubens, floats the spirit of the Countess Rasponi. the grandmother of the present owners, which was one of the most famous salons in Rome during the reign of Italy. Although the place is steeped in history, there is nothing intimidating about it, reflecting Count Andrea Spalletti Trivelli’s philosophy of dedication to the well-being of its guests. Decorated with carpets and antique furniture, the 12 rooms combine elegance and antique charm, the paneled library containing more than 10,000 volumes, including rare editions in French, is ideal for an aperitif by the fire in winter. In summer, you can enjoy the Jacuzzis on the roof terrace or the cuisine inspired by family recipes served in the Villa’s Italian garden.
