Citizens staged cacerolazo against the government of Pedro Castillo in areas of metropolitan Lima.

This Sunday evening, groups of people in different parts of Lima held pot against President Pedro Castillo. This fact was recorded in such areas as Miraflores, Jesus Maria, San Isidro, Barranco, Magdalena, Linse and others.

This demonstration of citizens began at 19:00 and takes place as a way of protesting against the leadership of the President for the ongoing investigations against him. Some social media users posted videos of the act taking place.

One of the reasons why the protesters undertook this action was to support the constitutional complaint filed by prosecutor’s office against the president Peter’s castlewho is accused of allegedly running a criminal organization in the Government Palace.

The day before, a group of protesters moved towards the Government Palace, but could not get there because the National Police blocked the Plaza de Armas. There were also clashes between supporters and opponents of the protest in the streets around the Government Palace.

Some protesters poured water on a citizen who criticized the march, to the point where the PPP had to intervene.

national prosecutor, Patricia Benavidezassured that the constitutional complaint filed against President Pedro Castillo is due to the fact that they found serious signs of the alleged existence of a criminal organization that has settled in the Government Palace with the aim of seizing, controlling and managing contracting processes for illegal profits. .

“After intense and lengthy investigative work by the task force I lead, and in accordance with my constitutional function to investigate and prosecute crimes, I can inform all Peruvians that we have discovered very serious and revealing signs of the existence of the alleged perpetrator. an organization entrenched in government to take over, control and direct the contracting processes in the state,” Benavidez said.

The complaint has already been filed with 16 members of the Congressional Subcommittee on Constitutional Charges. MP Lady Camones explained that from that date they will have ten working days to prepare a qualification report, which will indicate whether he is suitable or not, that is, whether he meets the requirements set by the Legislative Assembly for recognition as such.

“This is a process that will take on average, I don’t think, less than three months. Of course, obviously, because of all the procedures that need to be followed, because of all the deadlines that must be met, in this case, because of all the witnesses that can be heard,” Camones told RPP Noticias.
