Five gastronomic fairs that will delight your taste buds in October

How about celebrating October with a sign of gastronomy? While the first cold is felt and autumn vegetables invade the stalls, gastronomic fairs are on the agenda. And some have something to awaken the senses. If we are familiar with the Montmartre festival, which takes place at the beginning of the month (from 5 to 9) in Paris, other events take place in France every weekend of October. Selection:

Harvest Festival, Barrum (Alsace)

Barr is one of the wine epicenters of Bas-Rhine. Adobe Stock:

Vineyards a stone’s throw from the historic center, half-timbered houses and plants to light up the town streets… Barr is a small concentration of Alsatian charm. The small town of 7,000 residents is particularly associated with several “elixirs of youth.” In 1906, the first Alsace wine fair took place within its walls. It makes sense, therefore, that Barr would celebrate its Berk Festival in early October. In the program: wine tasting, but also concerts, a flea market… or the selection of ambassadors of the city.

When? September 30, October 1 and 2, 2022.

How to get there? The town of Barr is accessible by TER from Strasbourg station. Count an hour.
