“Gotta slow down, gotta swiss that’s the mantra of the moment in chocolate land. After a month of June 2022 marked by a return to normal in terms of bookings (+240.1% of foreign tourists in Swiss hotels), Swiss tourism is already turning towards autumn. Switzerland Tourism, which promotes travel in the country, has launched a new advertising campaign called “Nature Spa”.
It highlights around fifty activities in the heart of nature: sauna boat trips, gynotherapy or even yoga… with goats. Target? Foreign customers from neighboring countries such as Germany, Austria and of course France. A chance to let loose and recharge your batteries in a more than exotic setting this fall. We talk about it with Veronique Kanel, spokesperson of Switzerland Tourism.
LE FIGARO. – What are the goals of this new campaign?
Veronique Canel. – The idea behind this campaign was to highlight tourism service providers who share nature-related wellness offerings. The latter takes part in the care of body and soul. Therefore, it was one of the decisive criteria for the selection of this activity. The campaign has just started and is for the fall, but some offers will be available throughout the year. In general, the price of these activities is not too high and they can all be booked online. In total, we have presented 51 offers spread across all regions of Switzerland. Its promotion will be mainly online and especially on social networks.
Why do you want to emphasize the outdoors and nature?
Swiss tourism is now part of the dynamic of sustainable development. In our opinion, it is important to distinguish between offers related to nature and well-being. In this regard, we invite all tourists to slow down their daily rhythm and enjoy the fresh air as much as possible. It is very important to let nature inspire us and appreciate what it has to offer us.
What is Switzerland’s summer 2022 tourism report?
The summer results are quite good. We are witnessing the return of European tourists and particularly the French (In the first half of 2022, the Swiss hotel industry recorded a 71.9% increase in overnight bookings by French compared to the first half of 2021, editor’s note). In terms of prevalence, mountainous regions perform better than cities. In any case, we have been placed in the same boat as other European countries.
