Since the beginning of the Russian invasion, the countries that were helping the Ukrainian people in their struggle for their sovereignty were in a delicate situation. After refusing to create a no-fly zone in order to avoid being identified as collaborators, they remained cautious about the quality of the materials sent and their delivery times. However, as of August 3, 2022; more than 80 billion euros were paid by 41 countries, mostly Westerners in military, financial or humanitarian aid. This can be seen by the Kiel Institute for the World Economy, which tracks financial flows pledged by governments, a census that, however, does not take into account private donations, transfers from international organizations and the costs of hosting refugees.
