As of this Thursday, September 1st, the Municipality of Lima has announced that the vehicle bypass plan will be extended due to the progress of the Metropolitano north extension, which will benefit more than 350,000 residents of the capital.
The bypass plan includes traffic restrictions (in stages) at the intersection of Tupac Amaru and Naranjal Avenues (oval “La 50”), located between Comas, Independencia and Los Olivos.
Private and freight transport, ordinary public transport buses, as well as mainline and feeder units Metropolitan must follow the routes established for each type of vehicle.
Merchants, customers and suppliers of businesses located near the intersection will travel during off-peak hours or at night (generally between 23:00 and 05:00).

Exclusive Corridor 10.2 km
Extension of the northern part of the river. Metropolitanrun by Emape, includes the construction of an exclusive 10.2 km corridor, 18 stations (17 intermediate and one terminus), a workshop area for 120 buses, tree planting and more than 182,000 m2 of green space.
In addition, the work includes the re-equipment of treatment facilities in the city of carabaillotrack maintenance, supplementary lighting, surveillance cameras, traffic lights, signage and implementation of technical irrigation.
The infrastructure is 85% ready and will be commissioned before the end of this year. As for the work carried out to date, both the concrete road, along which buses will move, and the asphalt road, along which other types of vehicles will move, will be completed in the near future.
Also, the implementation of green areas and decoration at the stations and in the workshop yard continues.
