Fire report in La Victoria

A fire is reported at the intersection of Parinacochas Avenues with Bauzate and Mesa, in the La Victoria area, in close proximity to the Gamarra shopping center.

Firefighters registered 12 pieces of equipment at the scene and headed to the fire site. More than 10 pieces of equipment from different companies and nearby areas arrived at the scene.

Neighbors and passers-by recorded a video of the incident and reported that the intersection of Avenida 28 de Julio with Jirón Huánuco was closed.. Vehicle and pedestrian access to the perimeter was prohibited.

The fire occurred at the factory of metal furniture structures. Neighbors reported that welding was being carried out on the fifth floor of the establishment and sparks could have been the cause of the incident. Subsequently, the structure collapsed.

Commander Mario Casaretto informed the RPP that the fire had been attacked from three directions in order to control it.
