SNCF discount cards -50% until Monday. why should you use it?

It’s like a gift to travelers who have never been more eager to get on a train than this summer, with 23 million passengers carried on main lines in the past two months. SNCF is offering its discount cards at half price, i.e. €25 per year instead of €49, until Monday 29 August inclusive, particularly on the SNCF Connect website. The start of validity can be set up to five months after the date of purchase, i.e. until the end of January 2023. This promotion is valid for both first time purchases and renewals.

Launched in 2021, the Avantage range actually consists of three cards: Youth (age 12-27), Adult (age 28-59) and Senior (age 60+). They offer a 30% discount on TGV inOui and Intercités journeys in first and second class and even 60% on tickets for up to three accompanying children. With the Adult Card, these reductions only apply to return journeys including at least a Friday, Saturday or Sunday night. These cards can also be used on TER trains in certain regions and offer discounts of up to 50%.

Having an Avantage card is one of the safest ways to travel by train without breaking the bank. Its holder is guaranteed access to restricted fares on all TGV inOui journeys. A one-way ticket costs a maximum of €39 for journeys of less than 1h30, €59 for journeys between 1h30 and 3 hours, or €79 for journeys of more than three hours, including the last minute (based on a one-way ticket – return). These tickets can be exchanged and canceled free of charge up to three days before departure.
