Due to the large number of people breaking into the La Cabaña nightclub in San Juan de Lurigancho yesterday (SZL), National Police saw the need to send detainees to other police stations and departments.
More than 200 interveners, mostly foreign nationals, have since yesterday been subjected to various checks as part of the trial. In the early morning, they were taken in groups to the headquarters of the Criminalistics Directorate in Surquillo, as confirmed by RPP News this morning.
“In forensics, skills will be practiced on guns, on people, to see if they’ve used firearms; and we also coordinated with neighboring police units such as the Alfonso Ugarte police station and others, depending on capacity. There is no dungeon for so many women and men,” he said in TV Peru general pnp Manuel Losadahead of the Lima police station.
The High Command explained that the proceedings would continue indefinitely to fully identify the interveners and confirm their immigration status.
For this reason, he indicated that he planned to request Public service extension of the period of detention by 48 hours in order to be able to complete the proper actions and be able to determine if there are people who have committed illegal acts.
“Almost certainly (that an extension has been requested) because it will take a long time and we are going to use more days. By law, we have 48 hours. We are going to ask for more days to conduct a very thorough investigation and we can forcibly incriminate these criminals,” he said.
The nightclub intervened
Agents National Police intervened yesterday, Monday, the nightclub ‘La Cabaña’, in SZL, where they found twelve firearms, drugs and even a human skull. More than 200 people were arrested after the operation, including men, women and minors.
PNP General Manuel Losada, the head of the Lima police station, assured that it was mostly foreign nationals who intervened. In addition, he hopes that police investigations will allow the disco to find people associated with criminal gangs thanks to the number of weapons.
