As they pointed out, they were at the same ceremony at which the President Peter’s castle Peruvian track and field athlete Kimberly Garcia, two-time world walking champion, was recognized.
“To be honest, I really get humiliated and discriminated against. My daughter is the World Chess Champion, which took place in Panama City. How is it possible that a world chess champion was given an agenda and a portable charger? It doesn’t even cost them 50 soles,” he said.
Parents expressed their dissatisfaction with what they consider insufficient recognition.
“I arrived (from Cusco) after spending over 1,700 soles on a hotel stay in a city I don’t even know. I came with the hope that the president will be able to provide our children financially, because this is exactly what we need, ”he added.
They denounce abuse
The parents also condemned their mistreatment by the education minister. Rosendo Sernawhen they extended their request for financial recognition of the resulting title.
“The minister of education, in a despotic, inhuman, insensitive manner, told us, ‘Go to your school, they sponsor you, they win for you, ask them, ask your federation,’” one parent said.
“This is not the way, according to the Minister of Education. In front of our children. We ask to correct this, I ask the Minister (President) of the Congress to call the Secretary of Education and us parents. They called us back inappropriately. Our children are vilified, humiliated,” he added.
One of the applicants indicated that she wanted her son to participate in the Athlete Support Program (PAD), but did not receive financial support for this.
