Italian or Asian cuisine, gourmet or neighborhood tables, vegetarian or 100% red meat restaurants… As every summer since 1992, New York celebrates its gastronomy during its “NYC Restaurant Week”. The city’s annual culinary festival, which showcases the diversity of New York’s cuisine, celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. For the occasion, more than 600 restaurants in about five 85 districts neighborhoods open their tables for gourmets at discounted prices.
From July 18 to August 21, foodies can choose from two-course lunches for $30, $45 or $60 and three-course dinners for $30, $45 or $60, depending on the price charged by each establishment (tax and tip not included). To celebrate the event’s 30th anniversary, more than 100 restaurants will also be offering $30 bottles of wine. Some institutions participate in the festival for a week, others for several weeks or a whole month.
Fourteen restaurants from the first edition
14 of the restaurants that participated in the first edition in 1992 will return in 2022. These include: Barbetta, Carmine’s (Upper West Side), Dock’s Oyster Bar, Gage & Tollner, Gallagher’s Steak House, The Palm, Sardi’s, Shun Lee. West, Sylvia’s, Tavern on the Green, Tribeca Grill, The Russian Tea Room, Union Square Café and Victor’s Café.
