These young people who still write handwritten letters

On July 21, La Poste announced that it will replace its famous red stamp with a dematerialized “electronic letter” by 2023. And on average, households send just five priority letters a year, nine times less than in 2010.

Emails, instant messengers, and other digital means of communication have replaced the handwritten letter. Write by hand takes four to five times longer than typing on a digital interface, explains Marieke Longcamp, a teacher-researcher at the Cognitive Neuroscience Laboratory at the University of Aix-Marseille.
